Wild rabbits - spend a lot of time foraging in meadows and grasslands eating wild grasses, herbs, flowers, vegetables, and woods. They will also consume some fruits, grains, and nuts they come across, but these do not make up a large part of their diet. They get much of the water they need from the fresh vegetables they consume.
Ok after reading this, I thought I am not going to be climbing through the foraging meadows, just for some flowers, vegetables, and more importantly wood.
Then there were Pet rabbits - require a special diet high in fiber; low in proteins, carbs, fats, and sugars; and with the right mix of vitamins and nutrients. This diet mimics the diet of a wild rabbit.
Rabbits need unlimited access to hay and water. They also need some fresh greens and high-quality pellets every day. Treats can consist of fresh fruits, carrot (a sugary veggie), or whole oat groats. Treats should be strictly limited. Rabbits should not eat any dairy, meat products or bi-products, nuts, or most grains (whole oat groats being an exception - these are not rolled oats/oatmeal). Then I thought being a woman, there are just some things I will never try or attempt to eat such as pellets, or whole oat groats or hay. Double Yuck. Nevertheless, if fresh fruit is given as a treat that is doable. Treats should be strictly limited. Wow, I read that to mean cut the cookies, cakes, and chips off at the door. It also states, they should not eat any dairy, meat products, or bi-products.
If I was to give up eating dairy, meat products, or bi –products I will most definite drop 50 pounds in no time. Therefore, that is something to consider acting like a woman and eating like a rabbit. That does not mean you have to crawl in and out of holes or nibble on food.
It simply means if you eat like a rabbit; your new dietary intake will entail lots of fruits, veggies and some nuts and eating many small meals a day.
Why didn’t that surprise me?
