Fresh Start - Judge not what you don't know : Diets Tried Part III

I felt the need to retract statements I made yesterday about Jenny Craig and Medifast to any blogger out there that depend on package food and feel that these companies are stepping stones to getting the weight off  then make it work!

Surely, I did not mean to offend anyone, I can not judge what I don't know. I was merely stating that I can not and will not buy products or depend on another company to assist in my weight loss. Been there done that, but for those of you that depend on package food well handle your weight loss as you see fit,  whatever works don't sweat the small stuff I say just do it.  We're all on the same page, I want the weight off and I am sure those people who depend on the following companies or diets programs want the weight off too.
No matter how or what source you use there will be a struggle because losing weight and keeping it off is not easy. There are highs and lows there will be ups and downs,  good days and bad days, weight gains and  weight loss. There is a method to the madness and whoever/whatever you chose to help aid you in getting healthy is alright with me. I can't judge what I don't know.

I can understand why you posted what you did yesterday. You tried an expensive 'diet plan' and it just wasn't worth it. It didn't work, didn't help you to lose weight and left you broke. You have every right to feel angry and 'used'. Like you, I am including almost all foods in my attempts to lose weight and I am learning about portion control and how eating too much 'stodge' (in the form of potatoes, rice, pasta etc) seems to hold me back. I am not very fired up to exercise either..and my results so far haven't been brilliant, but it's the only way forward for me. I need to set more goals and do more planning but if the weight comes off slowly, (VERY slowly!) at least it's coming off!

I think the main advantage of a pre-planned scheme, of special foods and packages etc is that it lets the user off the hook. It's a plan which will work if you need a boost and someone or something to 'take over' the planning for a while. They can jump-start weight-loss and that may be all a person needs to carry on alone. I don't think dependency on them is a good thing, but they do work for some people. I also think the manufacturers are making a fast buck too..(these schemes are invariably expensive and we could devise our own low calorie, low carb plan with a bit of thought and effort) but perhaps, may be, if I had the money, I'd experiment too and want that breathing space? I don't know.

We do what suits us, and I suspect that whatever course of action we are taking in order to lose weight, we all learn lessons along the way. Good luck with your efforts.

Thank you for the support and understanding my point of view. This journey is easiler said than done. What I've realize through trial and error is slow and steady wins the race.

I am wishing you the best of luck as you go through this weight loss journey. It will not be easy but with consistency it can be endured and the small victories can/and will be rewarding.
