Fresh Start

Sleepless in my House - last night, I could not sleep and instead of going to the kitchen I decided to see what was on television. The only thing on television was infomercials. On every other channel there was a pitch about losing weight. As I flipped through channels each and every infomercial sounded the same like a group of kids in a classroom yelling, try me, no try me, no my equipment is better, no my equipment works better.
Promises of weight loss from 20 days to overnight success.

You read correctly some promised overnight success 3 to 5lbs guarantee. They go on to say there is no catch you send us the money try the product/or equipment if your not satisfy send it back and we will refund your money. Just like that they sell the product/or equipment to the consumer with the promises that the weight will come off as easy as one, two, three.

It seems easier said then done because the product does not come assembly and the man/woman that convinced you via infomercial is not included. So that is one product down till you get the urge again to buy something else. What happen to losing weight the old fashion way,(like walking). Inexpensive, easy to do, all shapes and sizes can join nothing will break all you need is a cold bottle of water, some good walking shoes and some music. What about Richard Simmons, a blast from the past he would do one infomercial and have everyone happy and dancing all at the same time with the "Sweating to the Oldies", they need to bring him back with a longer pair of shorts of course. He (Richard Simmons),made you feel like dancing.....

A good long walk and a little hip shaking is good for the mind, body and soul. Good ole Richard Simmons his infomercials are truly missed. I wasn't overweight back than but he would be greatly appreciated now.

However times have change and people have too. And the weight loss industry has become a billion dollar business. They prey on people such as myself looking for a quick fix, but many people are becoming wise to the tactics, including me. I guess the next time I am sleepless in my house I will read a book instead anything is better than going into the kitchen after midnight.
